About the role

We are currently seeking a Signalling Project Engineer to join our ever-growing Rail Operations team based in Perth, WA. 

Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O’Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate on-site railway signalling construction and installation activities to achieve project, time, quality and budget objectives.
  • Manage the signalling design contractor and the design process.
  • Manage interface between design, procurement, site works and testing & commissioning ensuring resources, subcontracts, materials and documentation meet project requirements.
  • Review signalling design drawings, reports and data to ensure correctness and alignment with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure rail safety assurance processes are followed.
  • Provide technical support to Laing O’Rourke rail projects as required.
  • Adhere to and promote Laing O’Rourke health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • You will work closely with the Signalling Lead to ensure the Rail Systems aspect of major infrastructure projects are completed on time, to budget and to a high standard.

 

About you

  • You will have a relevant engineering degree combined with significant experience in Rail Signalling project delivery as a Project Engineer on large scale civil/rail projects, ideally in Australia.
  • Rail Signalling experience must be clearly reflected on your resume to be considered for this role.
  • Valid Driving Licence & ability to pass a pre-employment medical; including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Construction Industry Induction & Rail Industry Worker (RIW).
  • Previous exposure to the mining rail networks and / or the PTA WA rail network will be considered advantageous.
