Our Internship Programme is a 60-day paid work placement programme for university students in their penultimate year of study. The programme commences in November through to February. Interns will work in one project or business unit for the duration of their placement to help you develop the essential skills, knowledge and networks to make a successful transition into the business after graduation. Following successful completion of the Internship Programme, interns will receive priority consideration for the Graduate Development Programme.

Our two-year Graduate Development Programme commences in January each year. The programme is designed for recent university graduates and aims to stretch and challenge while focusing on developing the essential foundations for a successful career. Graduate rotations allow work across a variety of exciting projects, placements and positions.
We hire most of our Graduates from our Internship Programme. Occasionally, Graduate Programme opportunities may arise, which will be listed on our website.

Defence and Industry Civil Engineer Work Experience Program (CEWEP)
The Defence and Industry Civil Engineer Work Experience Program (CEWEP) commenced in 2019 and is critical to delivering experiential training development to grow the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) highly specialised and future Civil Engineering workforce as future construction project managers across multiple domains.
We are pleased that Laing O Rourke has been entrusted as a member of the CEWEP community. For more than 40 years, Laing O’Rourke has delivered infrastructure for the Department of Defence in Australia, supporting critical missions to protect security and prosperity.
The prioritisation of CEWEP through Military Personnel Organisation Commander Australian Defence College (COMADC) is significant for the Australian Defence Force in transforming from a balanced to an integrated, focused force and the expertise and enthusiasm shown by industry has supported the professionalisation of this critical workforce.
