Laing O'Rourke's early engagement programme has a long-term strategic vision of tackling gender diversity by encouraging and supporting females in selecting STEM-related subjects in their influential high school years and ultimately careers in construction and engineering.
The bespoke programme is comprised of a series of modules delivered over a 2 year period, with one module each school term in coordination with other school activities. The modules are developed in-house by the team working collaboratively with relevant subject matter experts from Laing O'Rourke and its broader industry partners and stakeholders.
Laing O’Rourke is proud to have committed to a 10 year partnership with CareerTrackers, a national non-profit organisation that works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students and private sector companies to create career pathways. The aim is to prepare students for success at university, in their chosen profession and in their respective communities. We are committed to engaging in the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and integrating a growing number of Indigenous university students into the workplace.
