About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to facilitate the implementation of the LORA HSE Management System and Project HSE Management Plans in accordance with company requirements. Coach mentor and support project personnel to continually improve the culture and performance of the project team.  

Key responsibilities

  • Implement the project HSE Management Plans and associated sub plans.
  • Coach and mentor project personnel in HSE matters including client contractual obligations.
  • Develop audit schedules and assist in the undertaking of HSE audits and support the project in developing and closing out any actions arising.
  • Understand and implement HSE legislation, LORS HSEMS and associated client procedures.
  • Able to complete, supervise and mentor accident investigations up to and including Potential Class 1
  • Assist with preparation of SWMS and Construction Method Statements to encompass the relevant construction processes.
  • Conduct risk assessment workshops
  • Ensure all staff and supply chain are appropriately trained to LORA HSE standards and comply with LORA HSE procedures
  • Identify HSE training needs and develop and deliver HSE training so that all staff, consultants and supply chain are aware of their HSE obligations
  • Ensure accurate and up to date documentation and information relating to HSE is collected, reported, disseminated and stored in a manner that improves HSE communication across the Project
  • Assist in the development of HSE  standards and processes to ensure the Project(s) complies with client, contractual obligations and regulator, governance requirements
  • Monitor and conduct regular HSE governance activities within the project sites including:

Collective Insights, Positive investigations, FSR’s, SER’s, Audit, Inspections, Reporting breaches, Issuing non-compliance reports

  • Contributing to Project planning and procurement to ensuring plans and procedures  include HSE  standards and client contractual requirements
  • Plan and organise training programs, venues for the project.
  • Facilitate training and verifications of competencies as required across the project.
  • Maintain the Training needs Analysis, and assist with the E-induct system implementation

About you

  • Graduate Certificate, Diploma OHS and Certificate in risk Management, Cert IV in ENV
  • Working towards membership of a professional HSE or Construction body
  • Able to carry out gap analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management
  • Ability to carry out governance activities (audits, inspections FSR/ SER)
  • Applies an in depth knowledge to all high risk construction activities .

Experience 

  • Has worked in high risk construction industry environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively implementing an HSE management system over multiple construction disciplines.
  • Demonstrated audit experience
  • Experience in coaching to develop safety peers and project personnel in HSE.
  • Able to appropriately represent the project to internal and external parties.
  • Experience in coaching HSE peers in high performing teams
