About the role

We are currently seeking a Safety Assurance Engineer for our Transport for Tomorrow project based in Sydney.

The purpose of this role is to manage project safety assurance activities and provide safety assurance advice and support to both the project and the Safety Assurance Manager.

This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Safety Assurance activities across projects under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist with hazard identification workshops, safety assessments, and the development of safety documentation.
  • Maintain hazard logs, action registers, and other safety assurance records to support project compliance and delivery.
  • Review project documentation to support verification that safety requirements have been incorporated into designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of Safety Assurance Statements, Safety Assurance Reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Support the implementation of Systems Assurance processes and project assurance plans.
  • Participate in Design Safety Reviews and other assurance activities as required.
  • Liaise with project teams to gather evidence and information required for safety assurance activities.
  • Provide support to the Safety Assurance Manager and the broader Systems & Safety Assurance team.

 About you

  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Science
  • Professionally chartered with a recognised professional institution
  • Knowledge of risk-based safety assurance
  • Knowledge of legislation, standards and guidance, processes and practices related to safety management for rail infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of verification and validation techniques
