About The Role

Select Plant Australia is currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic. This role will be located at the Select Plant Australia – Seven Hills Depot on a full-time basis.

The role involves providing technical expertise across multiple locations, utilising extensive diagnostic skills on a variety of heavy civil mobile plant and light vehicles, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to quality control and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides technical advice and supervision when required across allocated region
  • Provides trade guidance and assistance and technical expertise to management
  • Performs non-trade tasks incidental to work
  • Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without continuous direct supervision
  • Assists in the provision of training in conjunction with supervisors and trainers
  • Understands and implements quality control techniques
  • Works under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment
  • Leads by example and champions health and safety
  • Able to recognise and assess safety hazards and risks
  • Influences others to ensure a safe system of work is in place within area of responsibility

About You

In order to be considered for the role, you'll need to hold the minimum requirements below:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience as a Diesel Fitter
  • Have worked on civil and/or construction equipment and machines (essential)
  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Diesel Fitting)
  • Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class (minimum)
  • Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card)
  • Able to complete and pass a pre-employment medical
