About the role

We are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Strategic Programmes team based in North Sydney.

The purpose of this role is to produce accurate, well structured financial analysis and ensure the integrity of reporting and planning processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed transaction reviews, prepare working papers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules that underpin monthly performance review reports.
  • Maintain and update reporting templates and dashboards to ensure consistency and efficiency across the reporting cycle.
  • Prepare/coordinate relevant accruals. Prepare consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow actuals and forecast.   
  • Build effective working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues to understand business drivers, gather inputs and provide analytical support.
  • Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the documentation of financial controls, governance requirements, and process notes, keeping these current and accessible
  • Embrace new systems and tools, supporting the team's transition to more automated and scalable financial operations

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications (preferably in Business, Commerce or Accounting) or other postgraduate qualification from an accredited provider
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, particularly in developing and maintaining scenario-planning models.
  • Demonstrated experience in P&L, accruals, forecasting, managing a fixed asset register, producing management reports, scenario planning and formulating accounting judgements.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, intermediate skills in PowerBI, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Process improvement orientation, with the ability to analyse, design and review a complete business process to achieve better quality and more cost-effective results.
