About the role

We are currently seeking an Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) Project Engineer for our Rail Operations hub in Perth.

Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O’Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.   

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to Senior Project Engineers and Site Supervision for construction activities.
  • Provide direction and supervision for Site Engineers and other direct reports, as required.
  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress for the area of work against programme and budget and report to the Project Manager
  • Ensure that the require Quality Control processes are created, maintained and used correctly (ITP’s, ITR’s, etc).
  • Support the procurement process for plant and material. This may include compiling documentation, writing scopes and responding to tender queries.

About you

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Engineering/Construction field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the railway Engineering/Construction field (experience in Overhead Wiring project delivery desirable, but not essential).
  • Recognised university degree in an Engineering Discipline (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) working towards Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia or equivalent
