About the role
We are looking for experienced Logistics Supervisor to work on our complex civil/rail project in Perth, Western Australia. This role will assist the Logistic Manager and Engineering team with overseeing all transportation and heavy lifting operations to ensure the project achieves the required HSE &Q, budget, time, and quality targets by successfully supervising and coordinating the activities of work crews on site during the construction, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and finalisation phases.
Key responsibilities
CRANE & CREW MANAGEMENT:
• Understanding and coordinating the scope of works applicable to site cranage requirements
• Organising and overseeing the work sequence to be safe, productive and efficient
• Ensuring safe access for public around work zones
• Ensuring compliance of all exclusion zones, plant set-ups, lifting certificates, servicing, attachments
• Maintain a diary to capture HSE performance, numbers of resources on site, status of program, instructions issued, plant on hire etc
• Maintain open lines of communication within the site team and attend all required meetings
• Together with the delivery team, take all the delivery responsibility for their allocated work area
• Complete a thorough handover with any changing shift team where required
LOGISTICAL PLANNING AND DELIVERY
SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE TRAINING
• Complete Fatal and Sever Risks checklists (FSR’s) in line with LORA Primary standards to ensure site compliance
• Have a sound understanding of LORA’S primary standards and GO,N0-GO processes and procedures
• Provide feedback to Superintendent/Construction Managers on safety incentives and improvements
• Support Superintendent with Blue collar training and governance in conjunction with WFMT
• Assess the safety and environmental risks prior to work commencing
• Responsible for all SWMS, STARRT Cards and Pre-start checks
• Ensuring all permits are in place, e.g. working at heights and permits to load
• Responsible for overall housekeeping of crane storage areas
• Responsible for ensuring all lifting gear is tagged and in sound condition prior to use
• Responsible for all access, egress to cranes, and rescue plan, training
About you
• Have a background in Logistics management including cranes and heavy lifting
• Have proven experience in managing and directing a workforce
• Proven experience in working in a major project environment
• Preferred but not essential, project management qualification or experience
