About the role

We are currently seeking a Plant Assessor to join our Select Plant Australia team in Melbourne, VIC. This permanent role offers great career prospects with one of the largest specialist plant hire businesses in Australia. The role location is flexible and will require travel to various project site locations. There will be access to a company vehicle to facilitate this. 

The Plant Assessor role supports projects with planning, directing and ensuring safe work practices in regard to the control of plant/equipment and associated activities. The role will also provide expertise in relation to the acquisition, allocation and maintenance of plant and equipment by ensuring correct application of the LORA System Management System when installing and operating plant equipment.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Inspection of plant and equipment against the LORA Primary Standards, Legislative requirements and project specific requirements. 
  • Gather supporting information as per the Plant mobilisation documents and upload into the System and provide reports as required.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure Suppliers and project teams are notified of any upcoming inspection expiry dates.
  • Consult with and educate the Supply Chain, Project and Select on innovation, changes and improvements to the Primary Standards in relation to Plant and equipment.
  • Carry out due diligence checks (Audits / system checks) of the Supply Chain.
  • Assist in the investigation process of any Plant related incidents.

About you 

  • Minimum of 5years experience in a Plant Maintenance or Plant Assessing role.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements of various acts and regulations relevant to plant & equipment.
  • Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills and strongly focused on the provision of quality customer service.
  • Solid time management, job planning and organisational skills.
  • Mechanical qualification is desirable.
