About the role

We are currently seeking a civil project engineer to join our Rail Operations hub to work on the Cranbrook Rail Outloading Project based in the Albany Region of Western Australia. This role will operate on a FIFO or DIDO basis.

Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O’Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.    

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the achievement of Laing O’Rourke’s safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe and un-environmentally conscious working practices and occurrences.
• Provide project engineering support to the construction teams to facilitate the construction process.
• Ongoing monitoring and reporting of work progress;
• Direct interface with the construction crews to collect data on information required for project status, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Support the site construction crews with developing and communicating work packages.
• Development and review of work packs.
• Assisting with technical queries.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering along with construction contracting experience.
• Experience working on SMP/civil construction projects in the mining and resources industry with a focus on bulk earthworks and concrete .
• A collaborative approach, with proven ability to work in a team.
