About the role

We are currently seeking a Technical Engineer for a Sydney based role. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

Provide support to the Senior Technical Engineer being directly responsible in the delivery aspects of their package of work to ensure the project is delivered safely, within budget, on time, to the prescribed quality standards, and that sustainability objectives are met.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, program and regularly monitor the Commissioning and Operational Readiness activities to a timely and cost-effective conclusion ensuring the design is managed according to the clients brief, is buildable, safe and prevents re-work or ongoing defects.
  • Coordinate the Commissioning and Operational Readiness activities by proactively engaging with the design and construction project teams, stakeholders, and the client team to ensure a timely and high-quality design package submission.
  • Manage the technical risk and opportunities that present on the project, including proactive review of Sydney Train Configuration Management requirements.
  • Manage the technical risk and opportunities that present on the project, by having a good understanding of the design, construction, commissioning and operational readiness approval processes of the Transport for NSW Configuration Change Board (CCB), including required submission documents and timelines for review and approval of work packages.
  • Reporting to the Senior Technical Engineer ensure all works from design, through to procurement, temporary works, construction, commissioning, handover, operations and maintenance satisfy all requirements of the Transport Standard Requirements (TSR), Contract Business Requirements Specification (BRS), System Requirements Specification (SRS), Works Brief, Transport Standards and Australian Standards and Stakeholder Requirements and ensure the works are safe, constructable, meet program milestone objectives, cost objectives, are fully integrated across all disciplines and meet System Engineering and Safety Assurance requirements

 About you

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Engineering/Construction field, with specific experience with rail infrastructure projects
  • Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Civil) or Construction Management with Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent
