About the role

We are currently seeking experienced Senior to Manager level Planning and Project Controls Engineers to join our advisory team based in North Sydney.

Candidates with experience working in a consulting/advisory environment or providing client-side advisory services are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess detailed project plans for all stages of a projects lifecycle with the view to help deliver project outcomes on time
  • Liaise with project team, project management, client representatives and government agencies to develop solutions and strategies to achieve project and business goals
  • Assisting in the development of strategies to mitigate identified risks
  • Integrate 3D CAD models and programmes
  • Maintain programme and other time related material that ensure that the sequence and timing of all operations considered/optimised for the successful project completion within the required time constraints
  • Understand, communicate the sequence of activities that are critical for the delivery of the project; and the consequences of not completing other planned activities
  • Implementation of robust Project Controls and accurate reporting and forecasting

About You

  • Manager level: minimum 10 years' experience in Planning and Project Controls on major infrastructure, construction, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Senior level: minimum 5 years’ experience in Planning and Project Controls on major infrastructure, construction, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, risk analysis, and project controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Experience developing and reviewing baseline programmes, tender programmes, forensic schedules, and recovery programmes.
  • Ability to provide independent project controls advisory services to clients across all project phases.
  • Strong understanding of project controls governance, planning best practices and schedule assurance.
  • Experience facilitating programme reviews, workshops, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
