About the role

We are currently seeking a senior planner to join our Rail Operations hub to work on a regional rail project in Western Australia. This role will operate on a DIDO basis.

Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O’Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.    

This is your opportunity to join a privately-owned Tier 1 constructor and International Engineering Enterprise. This role is suited to candidates with prior construction, road, rail or heavy industrial engineering exposure and a strong command of P6.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Assess detailed project and plans for all stages and facets of a projects  lifecycle with the view to help deliver project outcomes on time
  • Liaise with project team, project management, client representatives and government agencies to develop solutions and strategies to achieve project and business goals
  • Assisting in the development of strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Develop and maintain a realistic schedules of work, basis of schedule and resource management in accordance with best-practice

 

About you

  • Solid exposure in Project Planning & Scheduling across construction, road, rail or heavy industrial engineering sectors
  • Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or Construction Management or equivalent
  • Existing knowledge of construction techniques, methodologies, and processes
  • A strong command of P6
