About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager (High Voltage) in Melbourne, VIC. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.


Key responsibilities

  • Ensure that the project fully implements the requirements of Laing O'Rourke Health, Safety and Environmental Management System and provides the leadership for the Behavioural Based Safety initiative.
  • Lead the planning, delivery and integration of Testing, Commissioning, Entry into Service and Asset Acceptance of all project elements including civil, electrical, earthing, mechanical, communications and control systems.
  • Ensure all related project testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning documentation are developed and approved for each discipline, including for any vendor supplying major equipment.
  • Develop material and lead training for operations and maintenance team to ensure operator competence at handover.
  • Ensure all commissioning resources are verified as competent for the tasks they undertake.
  • Ensure commissioning activities are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the project milestones.
  • Interface with both internal and external stakeholders, including energy regulators, asset operations, and maintenance team.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role involving switch-yards and transmission lines
  • Individual discipline Testing and Commissioning experience in Energy transmission projects
  • Working on multi-disciplined projects
