About the role

Select Plant Australia operates as part of the Laing O'Rourke Group and has one of the industry's largest and most diverse ranges of equipment, accommodation and tools to deliver on every type of construction project.

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Hire Desk Manager to join our Select Plant Australia team.

You are responsible for managing a large team to ensure effective productivity and smooth operations of the Hire Desk in each region working from our Malaga office.  

 

Key Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities, but not limited to;

  • Reporting directly into the Region Manager,  this role oversees the daily hire desk operations, implements and monitors processes and ensures compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Hire Desk to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and monitor operational processes to enhance service delivery. 
  • Collaborate with the Region Manager to align Hire Desk operations with strategic goals and ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and procedures.  
  • Liaise with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the availability of equipment and services. 

About You

  • Proven experience in managing operational processes within the plant hire or similar industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large team, ensuring productivity and adherence to operational standards.
  • Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Understanding of financial processes related to hire contracts, invoicing and budget management
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and industry trends, adjusting operational strategies as needed.
