Laing O’Rourke is the Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.

 

About the role

Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for a Heath, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join the Suburban Rail Loop team based in Melbourne, VIC. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively deal with HSE and concerns, by engaging with the people performing the task or activity.
  • Supervise and mentor accident investigations up to and including Potential Class 1
  • Conduct risk assessment workshops
  • Ensure HSE standards are understood and upheld
  • Monitoring and conduct regular HSE governance checks
  • Conduct investigations
  • Toolbox and inductions

About you

  • Certificate IV in OHS or working toward one with prior tier 1 experience preferable
  • Reports and systems knowledge with the ability to utilise technology
  • ICAM, RRTWC, RIW preferred
  • Hands on and demonstrated experience in assisting supervision and management with HSE issue / action closeout within the workplace
