About the role

We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its in in-house Legal team in Sydney, NSW (although strong candidates from Melbourne and Brisbane may also be considered). This is a permanent role and is a unique opportunity to join a strong in-house legal team with great career development opportunities and the ability to make the role your own. Key responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Legal, your role will involve providing strategic advice to business units and senior management on significant legal issues and representing the company’s interests on large scale bids and their associated contracts (ECIs, MCCs, EPC/EPCMs, D&C, Alliances and JVs) across the rail, road, defence, new energy, industrial and transport sectors.
  • This role offers ownership of the legal service for significant projects (commensurate with your level of experience). You will be asked to address both the upstream and key downstream contractual arrangements and to support all legal aspects of the project from EOI through to contract close.

About You

  • have at least 6-10 years’+ PQE (in-house experience would be well regarded).
  • have a good working knowledge and experience of advising on and negotiating a range of contract types.
  • enjoy working autonomously as part of a collegiate team.
  • be pragmatic and practical in your approach as well as being solutions focussed.
  • have impressive interpersonal and communication skills and a drive to succeed.
