About the Project - Swan River Crossing

The Swan River Crossings project is one of Main Roads Western Australia's most complex and challenging projects, involving road, port, freight, river, walking, cycling, heritage and environmental considerations.

The project will replace the ageing Fremantle Traffic Bridge with Australia’s first extradosed bridge, incorporating both cantilevers and cable support, that will create a striking gateway to Fremantle.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Storeperson or Materials Coordinator for the Swan River Crossing project. This fulltime, permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise. This role will be based at the project's precast yard in Hazelmere.

About you

We are seeking a proactive and reliable individual with demonstrated experience in warehouse or yard operations, within the construction or manufacturing sectors. With a strong work ethic and attention to detail, you thrive in fast-paced environments where teamwork and safety are paramount. You are comfortable handling physical tasks and take pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will have a solid understanding of inventory management practices and be comfortable reading / interpreting drawings and developing SWMS.

Key responsibilities

  • Forklift Operation and use of small power tools.
  • General site maintenance, housekeeping and ad-hoc duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Induction and compliance checks of delivery drivers to site.
  • Provide general support to rigging and post-production crews.
  • Goods dispatch & goods receipting, order discrepancy checks and reporting.
  • Establishment & management of quarantine areas.
  • Development and understanding of SWMS.
  • Materials management & preservation, including;
    • Safe storage and distribution of timber, gas products & chemicals.
    • Storage and allocation of rigging gear.
    • Storage and preservation of cast-in items pertaining to drawings.

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the below criteria:

Essential:

  • Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
  • WA Construction White card
  • valid WA Driver’s licence
  • valid High Risk Work licence (Forklift)
  • Demonstrated experience working in the civil construction industry - minimum 2 years.

Highly Desirable:

  • Confident computer literacy - basic understanding of Microsoft Suite programs
  • Ability to read & interpret drawings.
  • Ability to develop & understand SWMS.
  • Experienced in power tool use.
