About the role

We are currently seeking an Event Manager to join our North Sydney head office. This role will work with stakeholders across the Australia Hub to arrange meetings, events, conferences and training, including sourcing venues, managing catering details, developing and distributing invitations and collating RSVPs.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Ability to contribute to creative concepts and theming which align the events to the purpose or business objective.
  • Work with graphic design and video resources within the Communications Team to ensure professional look and feel of event collateral.
  • Maintain the annual calendar of events.
  • Complete post-event reports, looking at attendance, final cost, lessons learnt. Analyse attendee feedback, survey responses, and other performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform future event planning efforts.
  • EXTERNAL: Manage logistics and coordination of external corporate client and industry events, including Laing O’Rourke’s Supply Chain Forum, AFR Infrastructure Summit, other industry conferences, trade shows, etc
  • INTERNAL: Manage logistics and coordination of internal corporate events, including Staff Updates, Australian Leaders Network Forum, Project Leaders Forum, Christmas Parties, Lora Lives, and others as they arise.

 

 

About you

  • 3-5 year’s experience in a similar role with an ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and senior executives
  • Familiarity with venues in major capital cities and/or ability to develop a database using desk-based research
  • Familiarity with virtual/hybrid event platforms and AV equipment preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with event registration platforms such as Humanitix
  • Ability to develop relationships with external vendors/suppliers and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure value for company
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

 

You will also need to be comfortable with irregular hours, travel, and high-pressure environments and be resilient in the face of last-minute changes or challenges.
