About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sector Lead – Water to drive strategic growth, operational excellence, and client engagement across our water infrastructure portfolio. This leadership role is pivotal in shaping the future of water projects in Australia. The position is ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the national water sector strategy, aligning with business goals and market opportunities.
  • Oversee the work winning effort of complex water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality submissions, resourcing, and budget requirements are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, utilities, consultants, industry partners, supply chain and private sector clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across engineering, construction, and commercial functions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including tenders and partnerships.
  • Champion innovation, sustainability, digital transformation and modern methods of construction in water infrastructure delivery.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

About you

  • Proven leadership experience in the water sector within construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Australian water regulations, standards, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in work winning and delivery of projects with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and a passion for sustainable infrastructure.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or related fields.
