About the role

We are currently seeking a Safety Assurance Engineer to join our Transport for Tomorrow team on our Rail Infrastructure Upgrades project. 

Transport for Tomorrow is a partnership between Laing O’Rourke, KBR and Transport for NSW.

Transport for Tomorrow is delivering infrastructure upgrades and modifications of existing rail infrastructure at train stations and stabling yards across NSW, to accommodate the new Regional Rail fleet and facilitate the operation of the modified Mariyung Fleet in line with agreed operating model changes.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Resolve complex issues pertaining to safety and risk across multiple projects.
  • Undertake Safety Assurance (SA) analysis for the design, including Hazard Identification (HAZID), safety controls, actions and produce/review the related safety documentation
  • Review key project processes, documentation and assurance evidence to ensure quality and content is aligned with verification and validation strategy across project lifecycle thereby meeting client expectations
  • Conduct/support SA audits on subcontractors and partners
  • Support internal and external audits involving SA matters.

 

About you

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of risk-based safety assurance 
  • Knowledge of legislation, standards and guidance, processes and practices related to safety management for rail infrastructure projects.
