About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior HSE Systems Advisor to join our Corporate HSE Team.

This role is focused on developing, improving and maintaining the systems, standards and processes that support health, safety and environmental performance across our business.

This national role provides the opportunity to work with projects and operational teams across Australia and includes periodic interstate travel to support audits, assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with operational teams, functional leaders and subject matter experts, you'll help ensure our HSE Management System remains practical, effective and aligned with legislative requirements and FSC accreditation criteria.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE practitioner looking to further develop their systems capability in a large and complex organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and improve HSE management system documentation, standards, procedures, tools and templates.
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of the HSE Management System to meet legislative, ISO and accreditation requirements.
  • Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal assurance and audit activities, as well as support external audits.
  • Analyse audit findings, assurance outcomes and industry trends to identify opportunities for system improvement.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HSE initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Monitor industry, legislative and accreditation changes and help translate requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders on HSE systems, processes and compliance requirements.

About You

Essential

  • Experience working with HSE management systems within construction, infrastructure, or other high-risk industries
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation, ISO management systems, critical risk management and assurance principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical processes, documentation and system improvements.
  • Experience participating in, conducting or supporting internal and external HSE management system audits.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across operational and corporate teams.
  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
  • Ability and willingness to travel interstate to support audits and assurance activities.

Desirable

  • Formal auditing qualifications (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or integrated management systems auditor training).
  • Experience with FSC accreditation requirements.
