Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site‑wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a large multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of the overall project scope within the time, cost, quality and safety requirements.
  • Drive high performance through collaboration, positive leadership, identification of risks, and interface with clients and authorities, and support the Project Director to ensure client and community expectations are managed.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement and innovation
  • Build balanced teams with the right skills and behaviours; invests time and energy to coach and develop talent.
  • Work with and influence stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for all parties.

About You

  • Extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects, with experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
  • A degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Extensive construction experience including construction planning and management, leading teams, budgeting and planning, procurement, risk management, client management, dispute/issue resolution.
  • You will have a communication style that is adaptable from dealing with technical through to presenting information to asset owners/stakeholders
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
