Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site‑wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced major-project Logistics Manager to be a senior member of the project leadership team. 

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the principal logistics advisor to the Precinct Director and senior construction leadership.
• Influence construction methodology, sequencing and programme development to ensure logistics requirements are embedded from the outset.
• Lead the identification, escalation and resolution of strategic logistics constraints.
• Establish the project-wide approach to material flow, staging, consolidation, storage and Just-in-Time delivery.
• Provide leadership across multiple logistics teams, contractors, suppliers and work fronts.
• Integrate logistics with construction, engineering, planning, procurement, commercial, HSE, security and project controls.
• Establish performance standards, governance, KPIs and reporting for logistics across the project.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and cost efficiency through innovative logistics solutions.
• Represent logistics at senior project, client, government and stakeholder forums where required.

About You

• Significant experience managing logistics and supply chain operations on major infrastructure, transport, resources, defence or construction projects.
• The ability to operate across complex multidisciplinary environments, manage competing priorities and establish logistics systems
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing logistics strategies that support complex, multidisciplinary construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site logistics, material management, workforce mobilisation and supply chain coordination.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and interfaces, including contractors, suppliers, transport operators, government authorities and client representatives.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and changing project demands.
• Commitment to safety leadership, operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
