About the role

We are currently seeking a Design Coordinator/Engineer for Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. The Beerwah Coast Connect Alliance, comprising Laing O’Rourke, Hatch and Georgiou, will deliver the Stage 1 Brownfield Package of The Wave. The scope includes a new Beerwah station and public precinct, rail upgrades, a stabling yard and a viaduct over Steve Irwin Way, supporting improved passenger and freight services along the North Coastline.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support across project bidding, tendering and delivery phases to drive engineering excellence, innovation and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Design Managers and project teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to design development, alternative construction methodologies and DfMA solutions that improve project efficiency and value.
  • Support the application of Digital Engineering, including model coordination, planning, clash detection and implementation of digital delivery processes.
  • Champion a strong safety, wellbeing and environmental culture, ensuring Safety in Design principles and best practice standards are embedded in all activities.

About you

  • Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Geotechnical or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Experienced in design engineering, with a solid understanding of design codes, specifications, technical problem solving and quality assurance processes.
  • Skilled at building effective relationships with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable in Digital Engineering tools and practices, with experience using platforms such as Navisworks and exposure to 3D modelling software including Revit, Tekla or similar.
  • A proactive and organised professional with strong planning, communication and technical coordination skills, committed to delivering safe and successful project outcomes.
