Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site‑wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the achievement of Laing O’Rourke safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe and un-environmentally conscious working practices and occurrences.
  • Provide support to the Project Director to ensure client expectations are managed. This will include establishment of a project brief, understanding the development drivers, establishing a cost plan to meet agreed budget, risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop an overall design procurement strategy to ensure consultants selected truly understand the key project drivers.
  • Oversee cost planning as required to develop an overall cost plan for the project and develop the design in accordance with the project budget.

About You

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, commercial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate on all levels – directors to operatives.
  • Lead by example in health and safety and attitude.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
