About the opportunity

The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east.

Laing O’Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.

 

About the role

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance.

This is your opportunity to provide service excellence and the technical skills needed to support a large userbase on Windows 10, Office 365 and related applications and technologies.  The role will also involve travel to other offices which are part of the overall program of works.

Key responsibilities

  • Implementation and support of Windows based systems as well as providing all levels of support to our users from 1st level (walk-ups) through to 3rd level Resolving incidents escalated from Service Desk
  • Building, deploying and supporting desktop computing resources
  • Supporting users across a broad range of technologies including mobile telephony, video conferencing and collaboration
  • Supporting our client and partners within the Laing O’Rourke office
  • Maintaining a secure IT environment by monitoring and reporting security breaches and any unauthorised data access

 

About you

  • Strong background in Desktop Support.
  • Strong customer focus, excellent communication skills and a drive to learn
  • Current drivers licence and have access to a vehicle where required.
  • High level Windows 10 support
  • Application support, including Office 365
  • Mobile telephony support – iPhone and Android
  • MDM experience – MS InTune preferred
  • Exposure to Active Directory
  • Support of Sharepoint
  • Experience with SCCM and/or Cisco video conferencing
