About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Contracts Administrator to work on our iconic public infrastructure project in Fremantle, Western Australia. This role will assist the Project team in all aspects of Commercial Management under supervision of the Senior QS/ Commercial Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with commercial activities and review Cost Plans and Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
  • Compile forecasts of cash inflow and outflow for projects.
  • Identify and classify risks and plan and implement mitigation measures within the project team.
  • Complete cost reporting and review in detail against budgets.
  • Preparation and submission of progress claims and ensuring their timely payment.
  • Read drawings and specifications and undertake measurement of elements.
  • Process claims for variations and additional entitlement to time & money.
  • Undertake valuation of multiple sub-contract packages and prepare applications for payment.

 

About you

  • Have completed or working towards a bachelor’s degree in in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience working for Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction contractor companies in Australia.
  • Experience with procurement of subcontract packages.
  • A knowledge of the principles and practices of contract management, program financial management, risk and opportunity management, performance reporting, budget preparation and administration on major infrastructure / rail projects.  
  • A level of technical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with your ability to liaise confidently with a variety of internal and external stakeholders will be highly regarded.
  • A result driven and collaborative approach to work.
